How to include the date in the format for documents reference formatting ?

I've tried :

{DATE},
{TODAY},
{YEAR}{MONTH}{DAY},
{YEAR}-{MONTH}-{DAY},
{YEAR}{MONTH},
{YEAR}-{MONTH},
{YEAR}

It dont works.
